VINYASA FLOW is a flowing practice where all postures are linked together with focus on the breath. The style offered by Monica is a beginner’s friendly version of Ashtanga yoga, based on the Primary Series. It's a dynamic but safe practice, challenging but calming. As the weeks progress, you will develop a solid foundation in your yoga practice. In turn, you will improve stamina, strength and flexibility.
Pls note, Monica does not do strong hands-on adjustments.
YIN YOGA is a slower-paced style of yoga where the poses are held for longer periods of time than in other styles.
The sequence of poses aims to work deeply into the joints to release stress and tension and activate the channels in the body - known as nadis in Hatha yoga, or meridians in Chinese medicine.
Yin Yoga was founded in the late 1970s by martial arts expert Paulie Zink and pioneered by teachers such as Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers. Monica undertook her training with Gillian Cawte, who trained directly with Paul Grilley.
Monica has contributed many features on mindfulness to the national press & written a six-week mindfulness course for a bestselling wellness book.
